I’m somewhat of a nerd when it comes to tracking numbers… On Wednesday October 7th I opened my 2000th set. In Istanbul, of all places. Although this moment was much less impactful than hitting One Thousand Sets in Prague, I nevertheless felt accomplished.

In that blog post, I wrote that my goal was to hit 2000 sets by the end of 2025. That didn’t quite happen. Nomadic travel, winter hibernation, and my new sales job had a big impact on my work rate. Still, I feel I’m doing enough sets to make progress.

Speaking of progress, let’s have a look what I wrote down in 2025:

  1. I still feel approach anxiety but manage to overcome it consistently.
  2. Girls no longer question my intent: they know I’m hitting on them.
  3. I’m only beginning to weave in actual Game into my sets (opposed to friendly chit-chat).
  4. Improved non-verbals: I’m standing close, touch them, and hold strong eye contact on green lights (when the girl gives good signals). Inner game issues: still too focused on impressing the girl (lack of entitlement).
  • About point 1, I rarely feel approach anxiety. Even when the girl is hot, I go straight in.
  • Point 2: That’s still true. My intent has since then shifted from nice-guy boyfriend to opportunistic lover. Not in every set, but girls are starting to treat me as the sex guy.
  • Point 3: I’m way more aware of what’s going on in set. I can sense if I need more attraction or if I need to dial it down and build comfort. I close my sets strong.
  • Point 4: It took me well over a year to catch her initial reaction and react (close my distance) accordingly.

What struck me is the inner game issue. I’m still suffering from it! My wing said “you’re selling to the girl”, and he’s right. Deep down I don’t believe I bring enough value myself, so I feel I have to DHV during the set. This makes her question “why is he trying so hard?”.

Interestingly, doing another 1000 sets did not change this inner game kink at all. This is why part of my Winter Focus will be to reflect on my value and work on my inner game.

On a positive note, I still find daygame as exciting as ever. Wings often told me that by year three the magic fizzles out. I can hand on heart say, that I’m as excited as ever about my fourth upcoming daygame season!
