As I’m reaching 500 sets my metric of what constitutes a productive daygame session is starting to change. When I was a beginner (less than 200 approaches) my aim for each session was to open at least 10 girls within 2 hours, as recommended by Tom Torero. The good thing was that I was getting a lot of time in front of girls which helped me build a lot of reference experience quickly. I also got on plenty of dates which resulted in 3 SDLs. The downside was that the quality of approaches suffered. I often found myself in a set with a girl that I didn’t really like. As I was just drilling the model, or rather reducing my AA, this didn’t matter too much.
As I’m transitioning to intermediate daygame I feel that this approach no longer serves me. In my current sessions I instead focus on incorporating some Game into my sets. I try to be mindful of who I’m opening: do I really like this girl?
The average number of girls I approach dropped down to about 3-5 per session. Sometimes less than that. On the other hand, I nearly always reach hook point. The sets last longer (usually until I disengage prematurely), and I get better reactions over all. I’m number-closing more often but the numbers are still extremely flaky.
So how do I keep myself accountable? How do I ensure I’m not weaseling out of sets?
One method that currently serves me well is to track both the number of weasels (girls that I wanted to open but didn’t) and the number of sets I open. As long as the number of opens is equal or greater than the number of weasels I consider the session to be successful.
