I just came back from my second daygame session in Lyon. In total I did 4 approaches in a bit less than two hours. The first set I opened in English, but then switched to French. The three following sets I only spoke French.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with my results: three discussions from 3-7 minutes each and only one brush off (because she had just dialled her mom on the phone). Daygaming in French, which is not my foreign language, feels like I’m learning it all over again. Stacking and vibing is a lot harder: not only have I come up with things to say, I also have to come up with the actual grammar and vocabulary on how to say it…

So far Rue de la République and its surrounding streets have proven to be the best area for sets, especially on Saturdays when it’s very busy. Having weaker verbals in French, Lyon, and France in general, present a great opportunity to practice my non verbals: paying attention to their reaction, getting close, eye contact, etc.

In one set, my verbals were not flirty at all. Yet the girl realised what I was after and gave me the IHAB-rejection. This reinforces my belief that I’m able to convey intent with indirect verbals.

The highlight of the day was when I went out again in the evening. Strolling through the center, I saw a pretty, leggy brunette wearing a long leather mantle. As she crossed me on the main shopping street, I saw that she barely wore any clothes underneath: just a tiny red top and matching shorts.

My spider sense tingled, and I chased her down about 100 meters (she walked fast!). Jumping in front of her, I said “Excuse me, but…”. Before I finished my sentence, I saw a guy come into set. I suspected he was an interloping male, and asked him “sorry, do you know her?”. “yes,” he said, “she’s my girlfriend.” The girl stood there smiling awkwardly. “I think you should leave,” he added. No harm, no foul. The guy offered a fist-bump, but I was already turning away into the night.
